Couples therapy in Oxford
Every relationship goes through hard times. Work, money, children, illness and family pressures can slowly pull two people apart until the same row plays out again and again.
Couples therapy gives you both a neutral, safe place to be heard, to understand what is really happening between you, and to decide together where you go next.
Couples often come to me when
Communication has broken down, and you talk past each other or have stopped talking about what matters
There has been an affair, and you want to understand what happened and whether trust can be rebuilt
Anger keeps flaring, and arguments escalate quickly and leave you both hurt
Intimacy has faded, and physical or emotional closeness has become difficult to talk about
My training with couples
I trained in couples therapy at Tavistock Relationships in London, including specialist work on psychosexual difficulties, anger and affairs. In sessions I stay alongside both of you, without taking sides, and help you slow down enough to really hear each other.
I also work with other close relationships, such as parents and adult children, or siblings, when a relationship has become stuck. All couples and relationships are welcome, including LGBTQ+ couples. Sessions take place in Jericho, Oxford, or by video call.
Questions about couples therapy
Do we have to be married?
No. I see couples at every stage, whether dating, living together, married, separated or deciding whether to stay together.
Will you tell us whether to split up?
No. My role is to help you both see clearly and make your own decision, whichever way it goes.
